My much loved GoPro camera, which made possible such epic surf films on thestickneyfamilyblog as Birthday Surf and May-15 2010, was lost to the sea due to mechanical failure of the mount during a nasty wipe-out on a monstrous four footer.

My friend told me, " build a lifejacket for your camera." I did not listen and I'm now poorer for it.

New one on the way. GoPro showed sympathy.
