20 Apr - Visiting the Declaration of Independence

Ok, a copy; but one of only 25 of the original copies made. This reproduction was on a national tour and displayed at the World War II Valor in the Pacific National Monument, otherwise known as the gateway to the USS Arizona Memorial. This park is literally across the street from our neighborhood and embarrassingly we have never visited, although it has just opened from a renovation ongoing from our arrival.

Kim was teaching for the night so I drove the boys over. The renovation is exceptional and I only scratched the surface, didn't even make it into the museums. Need to go sometime without the kids. The boys really liked the park and especially playing on the big torpedoes and under the ballistic missiles. Not really a place you feel good about your kids playing though.

That's right. I'll put up any All-American kid against the PRC any day of the week!

Andy reads well, but there's reading and then there's comprehension. And teaching the comprehension can be difficult sometimes.
