Maui - 18 -21 Mar

After a lengthy trip and exhausting return to Oahu what you need is a vacation to Maui.  After a quick "Sup?" at work for a couple of days we headed over to the Valley Isle for a look around. With this trip we have now made it to the all the major outer islands.

We rented a condo on the beach in Lahaina and hung out on the beach for an afternoon.  I know, so different from our regular weekends.  You can see Molokai in the background here.  Actually pretty cool and windy.
Spent another day driving around the island a bit (no we didn't drive the road to Hana - not a kid friendly trip).  Here we stop for some whale watching.  Hawaii is the winter home of thousands of humpback whales (don't actually know why they bother leaving) and you could see many of them from any coastal vantage point.  You can see one broaching here right above Andy's right arm.  Kinda hard to make out, but you'll pick it up.  About halfway to the island in the background.  Keep looking you'll get it.  Look for the splash.
Don't say it isn't there - oh its there!
Andy fell asleep in the car (he needed the attitude adjustment) and Zach I explored some lava fields just south of the Ahihi Kina'u Natural Reserve (that joggles your memory to where it is).  Pretty cool as usual.

And a trip to the aquarium - Zach checking out an outdoor display
