USS Missouri

Mighty Mo, site of the Japanese surrender in Tokyo Bay, recently returned to her berth after a dry dock period and we had our first opportunity to tour.  She is moored right next to the Arizona Memorial - marking the beginning and end of WWII for the United States.

Visitors

Kim's Dad and Stepmom, aka Grandpa and Grandma arrived in mid-February.  No strangers to Hawaii, but their first visit out to see us.

Leis at the ready and asking a million times a minute when they're going to get here.

Finally!

Happy Reunion!

Welcome Grandpa!

President's Day Snorkeling

We took advantage of a rare treat - Chuck off work and kids in school to go snorkeling BY OURSELVES!  We hit the Grandaddy of all Oahu snorkeling spots - Hanauma Bay (scene of previously posted world-class undersea documentaries).

Kinda chilly and rainy - figured.

A Psychedelic Wrasse - whoooaaa man!

And a Mermaid!

Dragons!

We hit up the Chinese New Year parade in downtown Honolulu.  Big parade as Hawaii has a large Asian community.

Thus has begun Zach's fascinations with dragons.  Surprising since they run down the street and straight into the kids' faces.  His interest was piqued and Disney's How to Train Your Dragon soon followed.  Now we get regular visits from Toothless the Night Fury.

Dragons Nest

No dummies these dragons - they happily eat dollar bills.

Day at the Beach

Mommy was putting the house back together after Christmas, so Daddy and the boys hit the beach.

Poor Zacher

Zach went through quite a spell at the begining of the year.  He got really sick with EBV (have no idea what that stands for - but he was really sick).  Poor little guy lost a lot of weight and once he finally recovered Docs took notice to his overall low weight and put us through a series of tests to see if anything was wrong.  So far he just has a case of the skinnies.
